The Kistler Vineyards 2022 Kistler Vineyard Chardonnay from Sonoma Valley received a score of 95 from Wine Spectator.

Kistler Vineyards has been producing some of California's most sought-after Chardonnays since 1978.

The wines from 2022, the second of three consecutive cooler vintages for Kistler, offer a distinct character of freshness and a perfect sense of being just ripe throughout.

Kistler's winemaking approach is meticulous, with a focus on Burgundian techniques including barrel fermentation, extended lees aging, and judicious use of new French oak.

The Kistler Vineyard is the estate's original site, planted in the Sonoma Valley, and produces Chardonnay of exceptional power and complexity.

Winemaker Jason Kesner noted that the site-to-site differentiation in recent vintages has been exceptional, with the long, cool growing season allowing flavors to develop without chemistry changing significantly.

Kistler Chardonnays are legendary for their ability to age, often improving for 10-15 years.
