The Bedrock Wine Co. 2023 Heritage Red Sonoma Valley is composed of 27 grape varieties, dominated by Zinfandel from blocks 38 and 40, along with some of the best Carignan and Mataro (Mourvèdre), plus Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and 21 other varieties.
The vines were organically farmed and planted in 1888, making this one of California's historic vineyard sites.
The nose offers gobs of blackberry, black cherry and blueberry plus nuances of aniseed, tobacco and forest floor.
The full-bodied palate features concentrated, spicy flavors structured by abundant, grainy tannins and mouthwatering acidity with a long, spicy finish.
Wine Spectator's review describes it as impeccably structured and infused with personality and polish, unfolding with black cherry and raspberry flavors framed by orange peel, garrigue brown baking spices and clove while building richness and tension toward medium-grained tannins.
The 2023 vintage was given a score of 97 by Wine Spectator and ranked #12 in their Top 100 Wines of 2025.
